Move Beyond Regret

I’m sure most of us have done things in the past that we now wish we had not done. And there are surely things we’ve failed to do this last year that we  now wish we had done.

Regret can be painful, and yet in the pain of regret there is also power; because with each regret we have the opportunity to learn, to adjust and to improve.

When the sting of regret comes upon us, let yourself feel that sting for a second, but only for a single second… Ok, two or three seconds, but that’s it! #LoveTap …Then take that negative energy and turn it into something positive.

Instead of continuing to wallow in painful regret, let’s begin to learn from our mistakes and do something about them. There is absolutely, positively nothing we can do to change the past, yet we can indeed change the value we get from what we’ve done in the past.

Most of us set goals or as we like to say “resolutions” this last year that fell short… Don’t get down or beat yourself up for it… The most positive, forward looking thing we can do is to learn all we can from it. Whatever our regrets may be, move beyond them by letting those minor, yet aching pains teach us valuable lessons.

Then… When the lesson is learned… When the pain goes away… Step confidently ahead, wiser and more experienced, with more solid, tireless determination than ever imagined.
